Artist Statement
My work in Ceramics centers on the challenge of pushing forms toward greater scale while working within the physical limits of clay. I’m drawn to weight, balance, and structure, and to the question of how far a form can go before gravity takes over. I’m influenced by amphoric Greek and Chinese ceramic forms, particularly their emphasis on proportion, restraint, and structural clarity. I study these traditions for their formal solutions and apply those principles as I test scale, balance, and construction in my own work.
My Photography is rooted in street and lifestyle work, where moments become a study of light, shadow, and form. I’m drawn to scenes where geometry emerges naturally—shaped by architecture, landscapes, and the way people move through them. Light is both subject and tool in my images, carving contrast into otherwise ordinary spaces. Through balance of structure and spontaneity, I aim to create photographs that feel both observational and intentional, revealing subtle patterns and moments often overlooked.
